Happy New Year Columbus Baseball Families !

Coach Jansen said the turnout for the Sunday baseball clinics has been great. The early session with grades 3 through 7 has ranged between eighteen and twenty-five kids; the 8th graders and high schoolers have had between fifteen and twenty-four ball players. Keep up the good work. It is never too early to get started with the season.

Coach Jansen also wants to remind everyone that requested former minor leaguer Mike Cullen to work with you, he will return to work on those individual lessons. Please contact Coach Jansen for times. Those still interested will have the opportunity to schedule 1/2 hour private pitching lessons with Mike on these dates for a cost of $30 / session.

The clinic this Sunday will be focusing on throwing techniques, infield drills, bunting, hitting repetition and hand-eye coordination. Please remember that you do need to bring your own bats for batting practice.

The clinic will run every Sunday in the freshman gym at Columbus High School. Attend as many as you would like; the cost is free. The clinic will run every Sunday for 10 weeks in January, February and the first two Sundays in March.

The time of the sessions will be:

Grades 3 through 7 from 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Grades 8 through 12 will follow from 2:30pm - 3:30pm

Columbus varsity boys will be available to help the younger boys from 1:30 - 2:30pm. We will also have guest instructors available.

The purpose of CBO is to provide Columbus area children an opportunity to learn and improve their baseball skills in a competitive environment. CBO will offer children going from Kindergarten to 12th grade a fun experience that teaches them how to display sportsmanship towards players, coaches, and umpires.
